Manheim Auction Services is adding to its hybrid LCV sales programme with a new physical and online sale at its Shotts auction location – making it the largest sales programme of its type in Scotland.

The new sale launches at 2pm on 14 September and will take place every other Thursday. It promises to bring in around 350 additional commercial vehicles per month to the market. Supporting vendors include Novuna, Rivus, Holman, Zenith, MotoNovo, XBG, Vanaways, Royal Mail, Arval, Parks Motor Group, Peter Vardy Ltd, Avis, A M Philips, Dean Plant Hire and United Rental Group. Additional vendors are being onboarded to support the increased buyer demand for physical auction van events in Scotland.

The addition to Manheim’s nationwide sales programme follows increasing market supply and significant contract wins in the LCV market sector. That has been matched with overwhelming customer demand for physical auction sales. As with all Manheim auctions, buyers are welcome to attend in person or join online via Simulcast.

Matthew Davock, Director of Manheim Commercial Vehicles, Cox Automotive said: “Scotland was the missing piece of our return to in-lane selling sales programme for light commercial vehicles, so I am delighted to announce this return today as the region is vital to our growth aspirations and overall strategy.

“In the past three years, we have tripled our sold number of vans at Shotts and the overall success and opportunity to do more there is clear going by customer feedback.

“Since launching our new LCV hybrid sales programme last September, we’ve seen demand from both buyers and sellers rocket to record-breaking levels. Our physical sales have become increasingly well attended and, at the same time, we’re seeing a greater number of commercial vehicles being de-fleeted and entering remarketing channels. This year is on course to be the strongest ever year for Manheim Commercial Vehicles, with more than 65,000 vans and trucks being de-fleeted, facilitated and sold across our vehicle services and auction operations. That demonstrates a significant 42% year-on-year increase.

“Customers have been clear that they’d welcome an additional LCV sale event in Scotland and I am proud that our Shotts location will now hold the largest car and van physical auction sales programme in Scotland.

“We believe this move further extends our position as the UK’s number one CV auction company, giving customers the largest choice and greatest variety across the UK for LCV product and remarketing services. Furthermore, with our now fully established physical LCV sales programme British dealers and retailers are, on average, just 58 miles from a physical commercial vehicle auction at Manheim.

“I’d like to thank all our vendors for supporting this move and look forward to welcoming both them and our buyers back into our Shotts LCV auction hall.”

Manheim is expecting more than 100 physical and over 400 online LCV buyers for the launch event.

Manheim Auction Services now holds more than 120 auctions each month with stock from more than 1,000 vendor sources. In addition to Shotts, auctions are held in Birmingham, Bristol, Colchester, Haydock, Leeds, Manchester, Northampton, Plymouth, Shepshed and Washington.
