Big Motoring World has extended its partnership agreement with Cox Automotive a further five years.

The agreement will see the car supermarket group exclusively remarket vehicles from its five retail locations and its online car buying business, BigWantsYourCar.com, through Manheim Auction Services. Big will continue to use Cox Automotive’s valuations and appraisals tools to manage its part-exchange and car buying programme, as well as leaning on Movex to supplement its own logistics capabilities. Their buying team will also continue to source stock via Manheim and Dealer Auction.

It is anticipated the agreement will see some 8,000 used cars per year go through Manheim’s Colchester auction programme and upwards of 200,000 valued and appraised.

Big Motoring World CEO, Peter Waddell comments: “Cox Automotive has been a loyal partner since the mid-90s and I’m happy to commit again to our relationship. They continue to be the only major remarketing firm to offer a national online and physical sales programme. They’re honest and dependable and have no intention to enter the retail space and compete with me. The team work hard and deliver results.”

Martin Forbes, President of Cox Automotive International comments: “We talk a lot about being a partner to our customers, not just a supplier, and our relationship with Pete and Big Motoring World illustrates the difference perfectly. We’ve been alongside him and his team as he’s built his incredible business since the beginning and appreciate the trust he continues to place in us. We’re looking forward to continuing to support Big Motoring World’s growth well into the future.”

This is the latest in series of long-term contract wins and renewals announced by Cox Automotive. In the last six months alone, deals with Hendy, Murray Group, Arbury, Corkills and AvailableCar have also been signed.

Big Motoring World operates supermarkets in West Malling, Blue Bell Hill, Enfield and Peterborough. A sixth site, in Wimbledon, will open in June 2023. Its consumer car buying business, BigWantsYourCar.com, launched in 2021.
